Contract position, starts ASAP until the end of March 2015 with large head office in Surrey. Candidates for this position must meet the following qualifications:

1. 2nd year CGA or CMA
2. Three (3) years experience in accounting at an intermediate level including at least one (1) year with an emphasis on financial analysis.
3. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond to demanding customer situations with tact and diplomacy and take initiative in successfully resolving customer payment matters.
4. Demonstrated ability to independently plan, prioritize and coordinate a diverse set of activities to consistently meet targets in an environment that includes changing priorities, time demands and frequent interruptions.
5. Demonstrated ability to write concise, clear and grammatically correct communications and present them in a professional and diplomatic manner.
6. Intermediate knowledge of applications used in the department (e.g. SAP, Energy) and the logistics of accounting and financial report production. Intermediate level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office applications. (Word, PowerPoint).
7. Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
8. Basic knowledge of computer systems operations and office environment peripherals.

Key Duties:
- Processes bank transactions daily including bank deposits, returned items, NSF's, etc.
- Reconciling various bank accounts
- Sorting and filing stale-dated cheques and other bank correspondence.
- Maintains and balances miscellaneous Accounts Receivable module of SAP including receiving invoice requisitions from the various business units, reviewing all documentation for accuracy and compliance with various tax laws and distribution of customer invoices
- Reconciling customer account balances and managing overdue accounts
- Analyzes and prepares a variety of monthly account reconciliations
- Prepares working papers and analysis for the interim and year-end audit report requirements

Procurement Specialist (either 2nd level PMAC or 1st level SCMP) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an automated Purchasing / Materials Management environment is required for an 18 month contract with this large HO located in Surrey.


To be considered for this position, candidates MUST have:

  • Proven ability to perform materials planning & buying assignments of a complex nature
  • Extensive knowledge of contract law and procedures to be followed in identifying requirements, analyzing costs, composing RFQ’s, evaluating bids and negotiating supply contracts
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills, as well as exposure to PowerPoint and Visio
  • Successfully completed one of the following:  PMAC Level 2, SCMP Level 1, BCIT Operations Management Technology Diploma or  UBC Master of Management in Operations Research


  • Establish and manage contracts, including handling outstanding issues such as statutory declarations, liens, searches, cost control management, risk management, etc.
  • Administer the process for selection of suppliers including ensuring technical specs and scope meet the company’s requirements, establishing a list of qualified bidders, preparing formal RFQ’s and tenders, analyzing bid responses and selecting suppliers
  • Arrange for delivery of materials, inventory management, reviewing customs documentation, managing custom broker activities
  • Overseeing open orders and responding to vendor queries
  • Develop and manage long-term strategic alliances with vendors
Compensation $31.50 per hour
